Girl meets boy

Mabuhay!

I feel that my style has evolved from girlie to boyish. It doesn't help that Mother Henri Calayag just gave me the shortest pixie cut I've ever had! My wardrobe these days consists of blazers, trousers, button-down shirts, T-shirts, shorts, jeans, and tuxedo-style attires, so much so that my mini walk-in closet mimics Tom's! LOL

There was a time when I only wore cocktail dresses and skirts, but lately, menswear rules my wardrobe. I was thinking about how my attire has evolved from girl to boy style. Then, it hit me...

My new inspiration: Baby Dylan! *waves*

Please don't ask me where I got these photos because I don't know where I downloaded them from. Sorry. Here are some of my style inspirations:

Colored shorts + Black blazer + Boots + Hardware
Gray blazer + Black jeans + White button-down shirt + Sunglasses
Round neck tops + Trousers + Socks + Pointed pumps
Parka + Loose shirt + Khaki short + Wedge sandals
Tuxedo style jacket + Black pants + Patent pumps

In the end, I don't want to look like a boy. I like the comfort of menswear but a touch of femininity (like 6-inch platform shoes, haha!) is important to keep a balance.

Shoppingero/shoppingera, has your style evolved? Who inspires you?

Prada = Fun

Mabuhay!

Leave it to Miuccia Prada to literally "shake" things up in fashion (and fashion campaigns).

I love the concept of stylish and pretty models in coiffed hair wearing quirky eyewear, platform kicks and colorful fur stoles mixed with sun dresses — the contrast is fabulous!

In my opinion, it seems that some fashion lovers have become well, all too serious about fashion, case in point, Anne Hathaway (why does Vogue love her so much?) Everything and everyone seems perfect and serious. Nothing bad about it but it's not for me. Thanks to the fashion gods for Daphne Guinness, Lady Gaga, and Elle Fanning (she is so kyoot!) we can still get a taste of real style and a dose of cuteness.

I miss the fashion freaks. I miss the fun and beautiful characters. Maybe today is the "beautiful" time and tomorrow belongs to the eccentrics.

In the meantime, let's dance...

Hmm... My friends can tell you that some of the dance moves here look very familiar! Haha!

Shoppingero/shoppingera, how has fashion change the way you dress up?

Trend report: Go wide!

Mabuhay!

The pre-fall collection is really one of my favorites! The clothes are wearable for Manila weather compared to the fall-winter collection yet as fierce!

Look what the runway gods have gifted women of all shapes and sizes:

Wide-leg pants! They are the most flattering trousers silhouette known to womankind!

Louis Vuitton
I love the belted bell-sleeved jacket and wide-leg combo! Great look for the office.
Givenchy
I adore the bomber jacket paired with the wide trousers on model Saskia de Brauw!
Emilio Pucci
You gotta love the classics! Blazer + Wide trousers + Shoulder bag = 9 to 5, and after 5 looks
Derek Lam
This is by far my favorite look! Flared pants + Peacoat + Wide-brimmed hat = That 70's thing!
While having High Tea with Tom last Monday at the Pen, we bumped into our beautiful friend Sasha Haman who is wearing this season's wide-leg jeans and ballerina flats! Isn't she fabulous? I love her style!

Shoppingera, are you ready to trade-in your skinny jeans for wide-leg pants?

Work it

Mabuhay!

Leave it to the hardworking and stylish Olsen twins to come up with a cool collection for the modern working woman.

We can all learn from The Row's Pre-Fall collection on how to look chic and cool from 9 to 5 and after 5.

Pointed flats are the must-haves for work now.

Nude is the new black.

The beige and gray combo is genius! I'm thinking, gray suit with nude button down shirt.
Fur is optional.

Like what I always say, "Denim may be a girl's best friend, but leather is a woman's secret weapon!"

Faux leather pencil skirts and cropped pants are the new basics at work. Pair them with classic button down shirts, blazer and black pumps.

Long, lean silhouettes that are appropriate for office parties and  business cocktails.

Wide-leg pants and trousers low-waist trousers are the most flattering styles for women who are pear-shaped.

 Game over.

Shoppingera, what have you bought recently to update your work wear?

Trend report

Mabuhay!

Vacation is over. I know, it sucks.
Here's something to get the fashionista in you motivated. I know I am!

The Spring/Summer campaigns are out! It's time to get some style inspirations!

Listen up ladies and gays, class is now in session. Our first subject is math...

Louis Vuitton = Colors + Prints + Skin baring frock + Art Deco-inspired bags

Prada = Stripes + Colors + Shoulder bags + Statement shades + Stacked heels
Marc Jacobs = Colors + Bold accessories + Retro vibe - Nipples (LOL)
Yves Saint Laurent = Jersey dress + '70's style + Old Hollywood vibe
Mulberry = Messenger bags + Anything camel
Balenciaga = Graphic prints + Rocker vests + Metal hardware
(Left photo) Mama Gisele Bündchen is hot!
Chloe = Nude colors

Versace = Nude! Haha!
Seriously, it's all about high heels + Handbags

Shoppingera, which of these trends would most likely take over your closet this season?
