Kitchen Tool

Mabuhay!

I spend a lot of time in the kitchen cooking and baking with my family. However, I'm spoiled because I get everyone to prep the ingredients for me. I detest prepping but it's something I should embrace if I'm going to pursue cooking.

I want to learn how to properly cut & slice fish/meat and cut & peel vegetable and fruits because I cannot always rely on the "Liza 2000" (our amazing helper). Haha! Seriously speaking, a good knife will allow me to do things much quicker and more effectively.

"GLOBAL" Kitchen Knives are made in Japan and are now known as one of the best kitchen knives in the world.

Keep in mind: When cutting/chopping, "Shake hand with a knife."

3 in 1: Global knives are expensive (P4,000-12,000/pc. at Rustan's) so, I bought the "Global G-Series Oriental Fluted Blade", 18cm knife which is similar to the chef’s knife that it can be used for a variety of dicing, chopping and mincing.

Love it:
  • I like knives that have fluted or hollow edged blades that allows food to easily slip off the blade ensuring effortless and precise food preparation.
  • "Global" Kitchen knives are made from one-piece stainless steel. If you take care of it properly, it should last you a lifetime.

Global Kitchen Knives are available at Rustan's.

Shoppingero/shoppingera, what skills would you like to improve on?

I also dislike prepping the ingredients, I just like to cook na mismo.

I LOVE my Global knife. It's been such a relief to my wrists and of course it builds to your cred in the kitchen when the other cooks are watching. :-)
