Heaven on a Dish

Mabuhay!

Still on our "Weekend Getaway"...

The dinner:

CRU steakhouse, Marriott Hotel Manila

The outfitey:

Sparkle and shine!

The setting:

Dinner for two

I'm glad Tom and I decided to have dinner early. We had the place all to ourselves for a few minutes and it was the perfect time to take photos too! Haha!

Great wall of fire! CRU's impressive show kitchen.
Levelling: CRU's meat humidifier. This is where they age their meats.

The Chef:

Meet the talented CRU Chef Bryan Jimenez

The foodam:

CRU's signature bread: Parmesan, pesto, and tomato bread served with herb butter and goat cheese with pink peppercorns ( I love pink peppercorns!
Chef Bryan created an appetizer for Tom and me: Octopus Ceviche, Tuna Tartar w/ Avos, and their version of Shrimp Cocktal
Mushroom soup with truffle oil

The pièce de resistance:

Menu: “CRU signature super prime Wisconsin US beef.  This beef is aged for 21 days, well marbled, full of flavour and butter tender”

Australian Aged Wagyu Ribeye
This is heaven on a platter. Chef Bryan chose the best meat for my main course! Wagyu meat is striking because of its marbling and is a succulent delight!
Cooked to perfection
Tom ordered the beef tenderloin
Our side dishes: Whipped potatoes, roasted marble potatoes, roasted herb pumpkin, and creamed spinach.
Tom and I loved the marble potatoes and roasted pumpkin. We also love the cast iron mini casserole pots!
Valrohna or bust! Marriott Hotel's Executive Chef Miek Brammer (you will "meet" him on my next post) concocted something special for us for dessert: Chocolate Valrohna Fondue — it's a decadent yet fun treat!

Our dinner at CRU was probably one of the best dates we've had in a long time. We had fun being ourselves, joking around, eating a fabulous meal, drinking wine, and sharing a dessert. The ambience was romantic and the service was impeccable. We recommend that you guys book a reservation. You'll have a grand time!

Tom and I would like to give a shoutout to the friendly staff of CRU and special thanks to Marriott Hotel's Director of Food & Beverage Mathias Widor! I love all your "tomato" jokes! Haha!

The Eppersons

Tune in tomorrow for a unique breakfast place!

CRU is located at the G/F Marriott Hotel Manila, Newport City

Shoppingero/shoppingera, when was the last time you had a romantic dinner date?
