Brunch: Rock star breakfast

Mabuhay!

I've been meaning to eat at Heaven & Eggs for a long time but I never got around to it until last week. My husband and I were bored of the usual weekend breakfast joints we've been going to, so we thought it would be a good time to try something new.

As I mentioned, I've never been inside the resto, so it was a surprise to find out that the place had a rock & roll theme. Swak ang leather pants and chain watch na suot ko! I swear my rocker outfit that morning was unintentional.

Foodam:

Tom originally ordered the 'Jack Black's Huevos Rancheros' but they ran out of avocados so he got the 'Jimi Hendrick's Hot Links Omelette' instead.
According to Tom, the eggs were dry and the links were bland...

...And it was weird that they served garlic bread instead of buttered toast with the omelette. I agree. The saving grace was the crispy shoestring potatoes. Nice presentation though.

I ordered the 'Rock You Like A Hurricane' breakfast. The dish for me was 50/50. When I first bit into one of the beef tenderloins (it came with two pcs. of meat), it was like rubber, but I ate it anyway because well, I was hungry. Thank God, the other piece of meat was buttery soft. The miniature eggs that made my dish fun and visually appealing.

The coffee was OK. I like the retro-looking teaspoon though.

The question is, would I give Heaven & Eggs another chance? Hell, yeah... but not with Tom. He is big on breakfasts and when he doesn't get a good one, he's a bear for the rest of the morning. In fact, he's known to have a "make-up" breakfast just to compensate for the bad one. He said he'd go back with me, but only to watch me eat. Fun.

*Heaven & Eggs is located at Glorietta 4 Ayala Center, Makati City

Shoppingero/shoppingera, would you give a restaurant a second chance if you had a bad experience the first time? Why?

My, Heaven and Eggs has changed so much! When it first opened, I remember their interior had painted white walls and blue clouds, angels, and porch swings!

I enjoy your blog a lot! I'm glad you switched to blogger, I always had a difficulty accessing your previous blog. I missed many of your entries because of that! So your blog's new home makes me happy.=) Looking to reading more from you.

P.S.
Few minor typos on this entry=).

yes, but it will take awhile, because I prefer going to new resto's every weekend especially salary days :P hehe. i'll definitely fill-up a feedback form before I leave the resto, to tell them what I think needs to improve. :)

I've tried eating in Heaven & Eggs once and never gave it a second chance.

I find it expensive specially if food was blahhh.

I'm not sure if I like this theme. I loved the "heaven" theme it used to have. Fit ba ang Heaven and Eggs na name for a rock & roll themed resto? What do you think?

Would you know if this is the same H&E as the one in QC? My foodie experience in the QC resto was good, but haven't been there in ages.

I'm digging the retro-vintage photos :)
